Eclipses Falling on the Axes

Postby Sirius Lee on Mon Mar 12, 2012 2:01 pm

How significant is it when a solar or lunar eclipse falls on either the natal ASC-DESC or MC-IC axes? The 4 June 2012 lunar eclipse will have the transiting Moon 2' from exact conjunct my IC. I'm guessing domestic issues will take center stage at this time. Will Midheaven concerns come up as well during this period?

It's quite important. You'll definitely feel the impact. Whether good or bad, it will be strong. One might say you're in the cross hairs of the universe.

But you might have some preconsiderations about this that aren't warranted. For one thing, there is nothing special but not eclipse except that it's strong. What you are saying is that you have a Full Moon across your angles, and this particular Full Moon is stronger than most. Its min effect will be to hyper-activate that area for a while, creating conditions that draw attention (yours and the world's) to some area of your life.

Second, for a broader view of the life-areas involved, see my discussion of angle distinctions in the Angularity section of this forum under the heading "Differentiating meanings of individual angles." Read the first three paragraphs, with attention tithe axis as a whole.

Good or bad, guess I better brace myself then. 8-)

I checked out the post you referred to, Jim, and greatly appreciate the way you fleshed out the essence of the Meridian. Thanks again. :)

It's just STRONG. People react to STRONG differently. Bracing leads to rigidity - I recommend flexibility <g>.

On a whim, I went through a decade's worth of solar and lunar eclipse charts and checked on how they aspected my natal chart. I discovered that around the times I either started a business or grew one to its peak of profitability, my natal MC-Jupiter semisquare was in partile aspect to the eclipse. One of those businesses was a flash-in-a-pan success and quickly folded up because of irreconcilable differences between business partners. The solar eclipse around that time tightly conjoined Saturn in my natal 7th and formed a 135 to my Mars in natal 11th, along with the partile MC-Jupiter configuration. So far, eclipses are holding up to event checking, at least on a personal basis.
